Tibetan Terrier grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Tibetan Terrier: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
This is a high-maintenance coat. A full-coated adult needs thorough line brushing two to three times a week, parting the hair in sections and brushing from the skin outward. Use a pin brush and a wide-toothed comb, and lightly mist the coat with water or a conditioning spray to avoid breakage.
Many pet owners choose a shorter 'puppy trim' every 8 to 10 weeks, which cuts brushing time considerably. Trim the hair between the pads of those big flat feet so the dog keeps traction indoors. Check the ears weekly, as hair and wax can build up, and keep nails trimmed every 3 to 4 weeks.
