How much exercise does a White Swiss Shepherd need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a White Swiss Shepherd enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Plan on 60 to 90 minutes of daily exercise plus around 15 minutes of training or brain games. The breed enjoys long walks, hiking, swimming and fetch, but mental work matters just as much. Tracking, obedience, rally, herding instinct tests and scentwork are all popular, and a dog that has worked its brain settles far better at home.
Under-exercised White Swiss Shepherds become restless, vocal and prone to chewing, and some develop repetitive habits such as spinning or tail chasing. Overexertion is more likely in young dogs pushed too hard; watch for limping, reluctance to climb stairs or unusual tiredness the day after a long outing.
