How much exercise does a Finnish Spitz need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Finnish Spitz enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Around 60 minutes of daily activity works for most adults, ideally including walks in woods or fields where they can sniff and explore. Finkies are agile and quick, and they enjoy tracking, hiking, canicross once mature and scent games. They love snow and often want to stay out longer in winter than you do.
Because they were bred to hunt at a distance from the handler, many cannot be trusted off lead near birds and squirrels, so use a long line or fenced areas. Heat is a weakness: keep summer exercise to the cooler ends of the day. Without enough outlet, barking and restlessness build quickly.
