How much exercise does an Ibizan Hound need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities an Ibizan Hound enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Ibizan Hounds need around 60 to 90 minutes of activity a day, including chances to run freely in a securely fenced area. They love lure coursing, agility and long walks with varied scents. Many also enjoy running alongside a bicycle or jogging once fully grown, as long as the weather is not too cold.
Their jumping ability is famous. Many can clear a 1.5 m (5 ft) fence from a standstill, so garden fencing should be at least 1.8 m (6 ft) and well maintained. Recall can be unreliable when prey is in sight, so always use a lead or long line in unfenced areas. A bored Ibizan may dig, jump or find ways to escape.
