Vizsla puppies shoot up in height and look leggy and loose for most of their first year. Most reach adult height around 12 months and keep filling out through the chest until 18 to 24 months. Mentally they take longer still: owners often say a Vizsla stops behaving like a teenager somewhere between two and three.
Joints are still forming in that first year, so skip long runs on pavement, repeated jumping and racing up stairs until your vet is happy that growth has finished, typically around 12 to 14 months. Free play on grass, short training games and gentle exploration build fitness safely. A puppy that limps for more than a day or two, or moves stiffly after resting, needs checking.
